About Inside the Glass

My Terrariums....
Inside the Glass creates miniature worlds inside glass containers. I use both new & upcycled glass. I sells terrariums locally in the Eudora/Lawrence, KS area at festivals, fairs & upon request. I also have an Etsy store to sell terrarium kits for DIY projects.
My story....

My passion for terrariums began with a large brandy snifter that was my Great Grandma Garnett’s. She had a green thumb of which I have many memories. I wanted to do something special with her glass container & decided it would be fitting to add plants. I added a small cottage figurine to the scene, a fence & a pathway leading to the cottage. I used Peperomia, Maidenhair Fern & Pink Polka Dot plants to complete the scene. I felt my miniature creation was a success & I’d found a new passion. I began a quest at more greenhouses & nurseries for a variety of miniature plants. I became obsessed with buying glass containers at thrift shops & antique stores. Small, medium or large it didn’t matter. The more unusual the better! I visited hobby stores to buy various figurines & decorative additions for more terrariums. I hunted for sticks, acorns, rocks & other accents at the family farm. It kicked off a whole new era for me & I’ve now made so many terrariums I have run out of room in my home. A number of people suggested I begin selling them due to their uniqueness (especially my husband since they’ve taken over our home)!
